Ex-student, Tyler Bailey has just been made an Australian Music Examinations Board Rockschool Ambassador. Music has always been a huge part of Tyler’s life but when he’s behind the drums he is really in his element. Tyler first performed at MAC’s Got Talent in 2014 and the school went wild.
Tyler found a teacher who had the contemporary style he liked, this meant that from 2013 to 2018 he travelled to Gore, every second Saturday for drum lessons at the Ashby School of Music Rockschool Centre. During this time Tyler sat and passed Rockschool drumming exams from Grade 1 to 8 with Distinction.
A highlight for Tyler was attending YAMI workshops in Wanaka and playing on stage alongside mentor Jon Toogood of Shiihad.
After working and saving for a year Tyler is now in the first year of a Music degree at Otago University. He regularly plays in bands in Dunedin or you can find him and some of his amazing drumming clips on Facebook or you can read the full story (so far) here
